The only reason I am not giving this book more stars is because the ending is very annoying. I honestly didn’t expect a pretty little bow and everything to work out, but I didn’t expect what happened. And you’d figure that would be a good thing, but it wasn’t. I found myself very angry that Samatha was the one who lived even though it was Megan who worked her butt off to get out, she risked it all. That might seem heartless, but it’s how I feel. I would have preferred if they both would have gotten out to be honest. I feel like they both would have come out with issues from being tied up so long and the abuse Megan’s face endured. It could have given a good glimpse into things that survivors have to deal with. But I mean, it could have been done with just Samantha (they kept talking about her hands and losing them or the pain in them) but of course we had to end up with a pregnancy.

3.5 stars. This book is hard for me to review. I wanted to love this book. Hostages and torture are my thing. I love that kind of stuff. But in this book, things seemed to drag on a bit too long for my taste. There were so many slow spots that I almost dnf'ed it. But I read it
And enjoyed most of it. Then, I loved the ending. But then the author kept writing after it ended, totally ruining the ending. I was on the fence about this one, not sure to rate it 3 or 4 starts. I'm compromising on 3.5

I had a hard time deciding on a rating for this book. Part of me felt like I shouldn't say I liked it as it is so messed up, and I really don't know how much I did enjoy it and how much I finished it because I feel like I have to once I start a book. I just finished it and...it is very disturbing. Everyone in the book has a horrible life and then the girls Jimmy captures and abuses....it is...I don't really know what to say about it. It is disturbing and not something I will likely read again, though it is not as messed up as some other books I have read, though I have enjoyed the other books more... I don't know. I didn't hate it, but I don't know that I will ever read it again or suggest it to anyone else.

I was drawn in by the bookcover and fact it was a amazon 99p deal.
I was expecting a horror of a kidnap and a struggle to hide this fact from Jimmy's school and police, however I got kidnap, rape, torture and murder.
It is a rather graphic novel in the sense that every sex related scene is thoroughly described in its complete raw horror.
In true typical fashion there was a huge build towards the grand finale and it was one huge drama pool. I did feel, However there was one death too many, so as not to spoil the book I won't tell you who. I personally felt this person's death wasn't necessary.
Its worth a read and was rather enjoyable, I am somewhat confused by the flux of 1 star reviews as I honestly felt it held up quite well.

This had the potential to be a really good book but the writing was poorly done and ruined it for me.

hmmm.... this was quite the interesting book.
Samantha is a teenage girl whos got everything going for her that a girl could want, popular, a loving boyfriend, prom only a few weeks away and a promising future... that is until she disappears. Rumors have it she simply ran away, something her bestie Megan is unable too accept. Megan's detective skills only seem to lead her to trouble.
Jimmy is not your average teenage high school boy. He's been the subject of bullies his whole life. Jimmy has dark desires, and soon learns how to act upon those desires.
I did enjoy this book thought, the ending was a cliffhanger which aggravates me as a reader lol, but I'm not sure where there was an opening for a second book.

Difficult read because of the subject matter. Good writing by the author and the ending done the book justice if you can stomachs this kind of storyline.

This is one of the most disturbing books I have read (I have read a few by the way). I could not put it down however, if you have the stomach for it, it is a great read.
