The premise of this collection of novellas is delicious (pun intended) with people ordering specials from a Chicago taco truck that come with the guns of the title.
Gary Phillips created the series and starts off the anthology, but I found his tale reminiscent of the very worst B-plots with underground medical experiments and faceless hench people. I persevered and with it came one of my noir favourites in Michael Bracken who lives up to his reputation of one of the great modern day noir storytellers. Not far behind on that spectrum is Frank Zafiro in the third story about a junkie caught between hard places.
Another cool series from Down and Out Books with easily digestible novellas that are for the most part a lot of fun.
