This is the story of four sisters and a loving mother and distant father and the messiness that makes family as soon as the oldest daughter falls in love with a loner/lonely boy named William and a string of events follow, abruptly tearing the family apart. Some of the ruptures that occur seem plausible, but others are so extreme and not explored enough for my taste. I would have preferred reading this story from one character's POV, being inside one character's mind rather than touching on everyone at a distance. Also, the title is misleading for me. In stars, overall, it's more 3.5 than 4.

Most beautiful book I’ve read in a while if not ever. Probably because this story about the bonds of sisterhood hits close to home ♥️
