I can't get over how much I love this series. I really like the flashback books like this, where the theme of "there is no one wrong way to be a girl" comes through so strongly. The ending of this book is a little abrupt for my tastes, but otherwise, I loved everything about this story.

This one taught me that I really cannot judge a story by its premise, because I loved this one! Again, another back story that had me feeling all the feelings. I also really loved the representation of having a character who is intersex in this one and how respectfully they were portrayed.

Gristle!!! And the warmth of the centaurs made me so happy. Also, I read Where the Drowned Girls Go immediately after this, and I appreciated the context around Regan's door.
