‘The Dead of Winter’ is the second book in the Seasons of Jefferson Series by Julie Solano and Tracy Justice. This book continues on from the events in ‘When Fall Breaks’ (Book #1) and really needs to be read after the first book to really get all the relevant details, character information and an understanding of the storyline, so you can have the best possible reading experience of this book. The story has drama, heartache, intrigue, difficult circumstances, tested relationship/s, and more. I enjoyed the first book and dived right into this one as soon as I had finished it. I had some expectations for this story and I am pleased to say that this book is every bit as good as the first.
This story takes a look at true to life characters dealing with real issues and situations- which makes the story realistic, believable and entirely relatable. This is definitely not a fluffy, hearts and flowers read- this story is raw and intense in parts. These characters were all really well developed and interesting. There was edge of my seat moments, emotional scenes, highs and lows, twists and surprising developments. It is told from several points of view, which added an extra element of interest for me. The story has a great pace and is a smooth and easy read. A great second instalment in the series- now for book #3.

Thank You, Ms. Solano and Ms. Justice!

The Dead of Winter (Seasons of Jefferson: Book 2)

By Julie Solano and Tracy Justice

5 Stars

Really?! These two authors must get a lot of joy when they finish a book and sit there giggling knowing what they are doing to their readers. I literally had to read the last 3 pages twice, I sat staring at my kindle thinking whoa..wait a minute..what just happened?!

I can't say enough about how much I loved the first book and now I'm in the same place with this book..They are both awesome and I love that the POV’s are different between the two and I haven't looked yet but I'm thinking book 3 will have yet another voice and if it's who I think it is I can not wait...but truth is I dont care whose voice it is I still cant wait.

The writing style of these two authors is simply spot on, every word, every page is needed, no added fluff just 100% pure storytelling at its finest.

I can't recommend these books enough, and please don't rob yourself of the whole story, starting on this book will just not work in my opinion...Read them in order and you'll see what I mean..

This book deserves way more than 5 stars and I'm chomping at the bit to dive into book 3.

The Dead of Winter (Seasons Of Jefferson book 2) by JT Authors

What can I say about this book and its amazingness that I didn't already say about book 1?!
In this book we follow Caden and his life after the events of book 1. I fell in love with Caden and his hardships he faced broke my heart.
We all need someone to speak for us at one point in our lives and im so glad he has Jenna and his sister to do that for him.
Then we meet Avery, amd what a spitfire she was. And man what a plot twist that was when learning about her.

I CANNOT wait to get my hands on the next book as I have a feeling it will be a wild wild ride!

The Dead of Winter is book two in The Seasons of Jefferson by JT Authors. In this story, the dramatic and twisting story continues for the group of young adults. An energetic and suspenseful continuation of this very eventful series.

A riveting and suspenseful story that was hard to put down. There was never a drop in tension or intrigue, and many times I was stunned at the clever way this story was delivered. It captivated me and I could not look away from the pages. The characters were a constant marvel and the story a never ending mystery. Cloaked in shadows, The Dead of Winter will draw readers in like moths to flame. 4 stars

So you love fiction? You are a big fan of Young Adult? Need intrigue - that need to turn the page to find out what's going to happen next because you think you've figured it out? This book is more than a young adult/coming of age story. It's lessons learned by life experiences, and how we deal with them emotionally to be able to move forward.

This is Kaitlyn, Caden, Jenna and Brody's story as it continued from "When Fall Breaks". Although authors Julie Solano & Tracy Justice have crafted an excellent prologue through Kaitlyn's continued POV to introduce the storyline and characters, you'll do yourself an injustice if don't read book 1 first. It makes getting off the cliff so much better. Like my review of book 1, I would find it unfair to rehash the story that is told from Caden's POV here. So, just take my word for it -pick up the book and take the journey for yourself.

"I don't know if he's going to make it through this, but if he does and she doesn't, he'll never be the same."

Physically, emotionally, temporarily or permanently - crisis changes you. This group of teens are dealing with very real issues. Authors Solano & Justice handle the topics fairly and with care. Besides the impacts of the accident, as the reader you get the ups and downs that go with being a teenage boy. So many of the readers of YA are young women. We forget that boys have their own insecurities and worries of growing up and being normal.

I was given an ARC for honest review. And like book 1, I can honestly tell you, continue this adventure no matter what type of fiction you prefer.
