Lacy Laurel and Alan Carlson are a great team. I love both of these narrators and were excited to see them working together. Laurel is wonderful playing strong women, and her portrayal of Blake is spot on! Carlson gives us the manly Bronx with his commanding tone. I enjoyed this listen!

When I started reading Bulletproof, I expected the standard bodyguard protects girl with a bit of suspense thrown in while they fall in love.
While Xavier Neal did deliver this, I did not expect to find the humour and intrigue about the characters that I also found.
Neal is a new to me author and I will be adding his previously released books to my TBR pile.

I was instantly intrigued by the blurb, it’s something about any hint of forbidden that has me running to the story. I was awed by the brilliance that was Blake. She was extraordinarily intelligent and I was so here for it, smart is sexy and she had it in spades! Bronx was so perfect for her, the one to broaden her horizons, give her new experiences and change her life in the most unexpected yet best of ways. The way the banter was written with a play on science was just everything. The banter between the two was the best lead into sex that was haaaawt hawt hawt! I mean the filthy words that left Bronx’ mouth then in another language, sheeeesh, exsqueeze me as I compose myself. Xavier Neal did a great job at keeping your on toes just when you thought everything was good, bam you’re with a twist!

I was hooked on this romantic suspense from the beginning. It was super enjoyable and I’ll be reading more from this author!
I love Xavier Neal as a writer. I feel she has such a unique way of writing, that I alway feel is different from other authors.
This book was a decent read. I enjoyed reading about Bronx and Blake. Bronx was steamy while Blake was uniquely interesting. She had a different way of living life than most and Bronx is the man to balance her out. It was definitely nice to see a different type of character for the heroine. The steam between the two was definitely hot! However I did enjoy the characters and their romance, the action side of the book was a little lacking for me. I enjoyed the premise of the story and how it ended.
I do think others will enjoy this book and the characters in it. I will continue to read Xavier Neal and excited to see what is coming in her future books!

She was the brainy doctorate with several PhDs and he was her bodyguard to keep her alive and protected from kidnappings. Even though they were as different as night and day, they were extremely attracted to each other. To Blake, Bronx represented a normal person who exposed her to normal behavior that she lacked growing up. To Bronx, she was way out of his league but he loved her and would protect her with his life.
This story was well-plotted and very different from the other stories I've read by this author. I must admit that I had difficulty staying with the story. Although Blake was extremely smart, to me she was boring. I struggled to finish the story.
