I loved this book so much I didn't want it to end. I actually took my time with it for once in my life because it was too good to rush.
I love Blake and how her mind worked. I even related to her so much as some of her thoughts have went through my head. The ones around her feelings not around her job or her inventing things.
I loved Bronx as well and the moral dilemma he was put it with Blake. The protectiveness he had for Blake even after it was no longer her job to do so just made my heart melt.
Now I did get confused between Bronx, Blake and Brandon because of all the B's but it was only for the first portion of the book.
But being able to revisit Applecourt honestly made me scream. I just love when books crossover like this.

I enjoy how fast paced this authors books are. They suck you in and don't release you until its over and you've lost four hours of your day to a fun adventure. This is fantastically well narrated, with a socially awkward, wicked smart Dr who needs protection from a kidnapping plot. Enter Bronx Bradford, who instantly falls for the client. Add in a couple months forced proximity and a touch of a fake relationship and that suspense I mentioned, you have a book you'll really struggle to put down until it's over. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
Once I started this book I could not put it down. I loved Bronx and Blake, they were absolutely perfect for each other and complimented each other one every way. The story line of this book was great and definitely kept me interested. Also the epilogue was perfection. The steamy scenes were amazing and written incredibly well. All in all I loved this story!

I love love love Blake!! She is a nerdy, fact throwing, smart and funny girl…plus that job?! Amazing! She just made me smile more than once while listening to her story. Did I mention a quick thinker? Yes she is the whole package that makes a memorable character. Bronx is no slouch himself. While he is in full protection detail I would not want to mess with him. I enjoyed how he felt an instant connection to Blake upon seeing her picture.
This one is filled with action, danger, suspense and did I mention action? I really loved it all. The story, the characters and the attraction between the two MC. I did listen to this one on audio. Both narrators did an excellent job.

This is my second read by Xavier Neal; Bulletproof is a standalone, forced proximity and bodyguard romance. Bulletproof is navigated from Blake (heroine) and Bronx's (hero) perspective. I have to admit, it did take me a while to get into the story. But after a couple of chapters in, it really picked up. It's action packed, and there were some scenes that had me laughing out loud! As soon as they meet, Bronx and Blake are drawn to each other. The chemistry between the main characters is through the roof! I loved reading their dialogues! Both of them are attracted to one another, but because of the circumstances, or more like how they met. It's inappropriate and unprofessional for them to act on it, to give in to their desires. I don't want to give too many spoilers away, but Blake and Bronx bascially work for the same company, only they never crossed paths, until now.
Blake is the head of tactical tools for the security and private technology company she works for. And Bronx is a bodyguard. When Blake starts to receive threats, Bronx is assigned to protect her. I love Blake's character, she's definitely an unique character! She's smart, funny and intelligent. And my gosh! She most certainly can talk! And Bronx loves it! I really liked how Xavier Neal portrayed Blake's character, it most certainly made my reading experience more enjoyable. Blake can be seen as being socially awkward and she has difficulties in dealing with her emotions. And she feels more comfortable behind the scenes creating special and high tech gadgets, rather than attending social events. She's a quick thinker, loves cracking codes and analyzing everything as well as being predictable; she likes to live according to her schedule. Because of Bronx's work he doesn't really have many friends.
In way, Bronx and Blake can relate to each other, both of them are focused on their work, they can be seen as workaholics. When incidents happens back to back, Blake begins to question herself. She realizes that she wants more from life. Bronx can't deny that he wants Blake, but had a lot of internal battles with himself. I loved how Bronx pushed Blake outside of her comfort zone. They are surely a perfect match for each over, and Bronx is definitely a swoon worthy character. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the characters from her previous book "Aleatory" mentioned in this book! Overall, I really enjoyed how the plot unravelled and I loved the ending!

I was hooked right from the beginning with Blake and Bronx’s story. It was filled with lots of mystery, action, and unexpected twists and turns. The chemistry between Blake and Bronx was electric too. I definitely enjoyed their snarky banter and hilarious humour. Their characters and storyline are well written.
If you like some suspense and lots of heat with your romance, then pick this one up. Highly highly recommended.

Better than I expected
I was looking for a fake relationship trope but I decided to give this a chance anyway. My favorite thing about this book is that it written like the MC is the narrator 100% of the time. The way the spicy scenes are written in this poetic, technical way was so different and yet still very good. I absolutely loved this book. Blake was a very unique lead and I enjoyed her very much. I love when a writer is able to have a character stay true to themselves with reasonable growth. Instead of making it seem like love can or will change the foundational makeup of a person. Great read! I’d give it a 2.5 on the spice.

I was instantly intrigued by the blurb, it’s something about any hint of forbidden that has me running to the story. I was awed by the brilliance that was Blake. She was extraordinarily intelligent and I was so here for it, smart is sexy and she had it in spades! Bronx was so perfect for her, the one to broaden her horizons, give her new experiences and change her life in the most unexpected yet best of ways. The way the banter was written with a play on science was just everything. The banter between the two was the best lead into sex that was haaaawt hawt hawt! I mean the filthy words that left Bronx’ mouth then in another language, sheeeesh, exsqueeze me as I compose myself. Xavier Neal did a great job at keeping your on toes just when you thought everything was good, bam you’re with a twist!
