a kind of fun book - however the kids seemed to have very little interest in the story - perhaps just because they didn't identify with having a dad...

Great title, but the story disappoints.

Fun premise, but just a little weird. The illustrations seem a bit old school, with a period feel to them. While I'm not one to belittle old school (because I'm pretty old!) it just didn't click with me as much as it could have. The misplaced dads waiting around were just a little weird-- although maybe that's why they were still unclaimed. I checked this out after reading about it in 100 Scope Notes post about unusual books.

This is a weird ass picture book. Fun to look at, but would be pretty disappointing to a kid who actually had a missing father.

This is a fantastic book! I really like all of the different kinds of dads and I cracked up at the releasing them into the wild part. This will be on my Christmas list this year for gifts to give to friends.

The illustrations in this book are terrific and I loved the color scheme of the book as well. It has a vintage feel but will last the test of time. A+

This was weird. I found it funny and entertaining and mildly creepy, but just not quite my style.
