I love optimistic sci-fi, and this book is peak optimistic sci-fi. Not only does it cover many typical topics in robot centered stories (what is free will, what is an identity, do we have a purpose, etc.) but it also addressed some important aspects of humanity, such as depression and anxiety. Sibling Dex was an immediately interesting character who I related to a lot. Mosscap was extremely lovable and was a great complement to Dex’s character. Overall, this story gave me hope, not only for the characters within it, but us as a people as well.

This book is a warm cup of tea. It’s full of interesting conversations. It explore the meaning of purpose and reminds everyone to stop and take a break. A hopeful book about what humanity could look like.

I’ve read it twice now and the last chapter of the book makes me fall in love with it all over again.

The world building is one of hope. The message is both hope and a call to action—both to accept yourself as being enough & to accept you are a part of the world. The way the characters perceive the beauty and reality of the natural world hits deeply with me. Loved it, I will definitely pick it up again. A cozy yet important read!

This book feels a lot like a warm cup of tea, a hug from a friend, a break from reality.
It is about finally realizing that you don't need huge achievements in order to be loved or valued, that "It is enough to exist in the world and marvel at it".
A Psalm For The Wild Built is exactly what i needed to read, so sweet and hopeful, an optimistic and warm view of the harsh society we live in.

Loved this so much it became one of my favorites, and I am so excited to read the second volume!!
