This was a bittersweet book. The narrator wants to dind their individual purpose in a world where all the main conflicts of society have been resolved and all that's left are the conflicts innate to life itself (things die, there are tasks to do, a new phase of family, etc). I read it in one sitting and came away feeling conflicted, because the book highlighted to me that it almost feels impossible to ask small questions about yourself when we live in a world that still has so many things still very much wrong with it. But I thought the overall conclusion was very sweet and I really enjoyed the characters.

This was a really cozy read, yet it still had depth in that it was a reflection on the purpose of life. It really felt like a balm to the heart and I would definitely recommend.

I felt hopeful reading of a culture’s positive “course correction.” If only we could learn and change like those of this world did! Endearing characters and inventive technologies.
