This was a difficult book to rate - I enjoyed the reading experience and I LOVED the setting - so rich and descriptive & had me longing to visit Paris, but I couldn't connect with the characters. It was hard to sympathize with Vincent's decisions & actions. Mostly the book was well written & I wanted to know what happened, but didn't understand the random screenplay format nor did I like the open ending....I was reading on to see what her final decision would be, and it seemed like the author couldn't make up her mind & took the easy way out.

This was a 2.5 star read for me. I enjoyed the writing and the setting (Paris) was lovely of course. The structure (with cinematic shots, emails, playlists, etc.) was a nice touch. But I just did not give two shits about any of these characters. There was no true conflict worth the title. They were all obnoxiously privileged with only a surface-level awareness of it. I didn’t care what happened to them. I wanted to like this book but it just fell flat.
