This book actually made me grumpy. I like maybe 1/8th of it when there were gorgeous descriptions of Paris and all the lovely travels. The book itself felt romantic which I appreciated.
I did not however enjoy Vincent or anything related to her. I found her to be so frustrating and while I appreciated the book offered some insight into non traditional relationships Vincent was also being unethical. I also get having unlikeable or frankly shitty characters as a plot point or to further something in the book but this did nothing for me. I just felt the most for Loup and also found him to be compelling and strung along.

While I don't mind age gap relationships, cheating does bother me. I don't like it when a man does, I don't like it here. Worse, that stringing a partner along while having an affair because of something her husband did before meeting her. I get being angry at the secret, I get that, but ffs. Also, while I repeat myself in that I do not mind ages gaps, it gave me the ick she was constantly comparing her lover to her son.

Boring with an abrupt ending.
This book was so frustrating. I was rooting for the main character and by the end, I couldn’t stand her.
I liked so much of this, but from pages 50-100 it’s all just internal dialogue- so boring. I just wanted the story to keep moving!
Hated the end too, which is why I knocked it down to 2 stars instead of 3.
