This book was surprising to me, I was not expecting to like it.

This was such a different book than what I'm used to, but I honestly really enjoyed it. He seems dark and broody, but really he's just a tortured simp. Will definitely read more from Rina Kent!

This was my first Rina Kent book and I ate it up! I could not read this book fast enough. The FMC and MMC were both perfection. I love a FMC with a revenge motive and boy does Dahlia follow through on hers. The chemistry between the two main characters is *chef's kiss*. Check the trigger warnings before reading this book though.. There are some dark moments that may bother some people. I cannot wait until December to read the sequel!

3,5 stars!

OKKKKK. NO BUT LIKE HEAR ME OUT. This is my favourite book of Ms Rina Kent so far (I've read like 3 but who cares, and I've only liked like 1 and half)

Again, my main critique is the development of the characters. Sometimes they just feel very superficial even when they're talking about incredibly serious problems that they have. Kind of like "oh yeah that heart wrenching thing happened to me and changed my entire life but yeah you know....anyways" but like always I was so incredibly interested in the mystery that I just had to finish it.

Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

I've found Rina Kent books to be a guaranteed good time. I've been working my way through her suggested reading order list, but when I saw she had a brand spanking new series, I shelved the list and jumped right into Beautiful Venom.

This book combines a delicious mix of dark secret societies and sexy, anti-hero hockey hunks. Mmmm... yes, please!

Dahlia's foster sister Violet, who is her bff and only real family, is left in a coma after a brutal attack. Dahlia is convinced the attacker is both a member of the elite Vipers hockey team and part of a secretive organization known as Vencor. With little to go on, she sets out to infiltrate Vencor, figure out who attacked her bestie, and make them pay.

Enter Kane Davenport, Vipers captain and high-ranking Vencor member. Dahlia thinks she’s manipulating him to get closer to the truth, but Kane is very much playing a game of his own.

This book has that signature Rina Kent edge: obsession, power plays, and chemistry that burns. Just a heads-up... there are serious trigger warnings including references to childhood physical, emotional, and sexual abuse (mostly off page), dubious and consensual non-consent scenes, and physical violence (including the MMC striking the FMC in an early scene). It’s dark, it’s twisted, and not for everyone, but if you’re a fan of Rina’s brand of intensity, you’ll probably devour it like I did.

Jude and Violet’s story hits at the end of the year, and you better believe I’ll be front row for the angst, obsession, and deliciously twisted drama. I need it like yesterday.
