Is it bad to say that TECHNICALLY this is the first Rina Kent book I choose to read even though I do have many of her books? Please don’t judge me! But the cover and it being the first of a new series, I just HAD to read it the moment I got it in my hands. Side note, I was surprised to only see like 12 copies out on display at B&N with a couple of her books from the Legacy of Gods series. But that’s just me being a weirdo noticing things. ANYWAYS, yes, I got the B&N exclusive version because black is my favorite color and the dark cover was sooo pretty!

I gotta admit, when I saw that this was a dark sports romance with a secret society of the ultra wealthy AND revenge involved, I knew I had to read this! And lordy I was hooked! I had so much trouble putting this book down, and actually finished it in 4 days. The characters, the world in the book, even the bits we got when it came to Vencor, I enjoyed falling into it. I mean, talk about what can be done with money and connections!

First off, the spice! It’s not often I get to read a book that hits those perfect levels of primal, and Rina HIT THOSE LEVELS! Chapter 18 *chef’s kiss* I loved it, and had to re-read the chapter
from how delicious it was. I mean Kane and Dahlia hit those sweet levels of primal vibes. If you enjoy reading about rough fun and being hunted, yeah this book will cause you to smile big time.

There is SOOOO much more I wanna say but it would definitely be considered spoilers. Just know that you won’t hate Kane in the end, Dahlia is such a badass and still can connect to her emotional side, and most of my personal predictions came true as things were revealed. This book has left me excited for the other two and now I REALLY need to read the rest of her books that I currently own. Time to get on the Legacy of Gods series before the second Vipers book comes out!

I really enjoyed this read, I was iffy on Kane in the beginning, but by the end I loved him, his development was so good. The tension, the banter, the plot all done well. I liked how despite the dark themes there were moments I was laughing too. Definitely check your trigger warnings!!
