Did I read this quickly? Yes
Is it a good book? Not particularly
Honestly like it’s a Rina Kent book so you already know the warnings. I have read a few ice hockey romances in my time too and this just wasn’t really an ice hockey romance like bin the ice hockey part honestly.
This s***ts dark so read the warnings if you get triggered.
Look I read it, kinda in a slump after direbound so wanted to step away from fantasy and it was there but I was sat skimming pages not fully reading this, it doesn’t require a lot of focus.
Not much more to say, yes character development was there, yes the plot was basic and predictable just a classic dark romance plot

This was definitely giving Killian Carson in God of Malice at parts. It was hard to get into because it felt really insta-lust and at the beginning, Kane kind of gave me the ick. That being said, I did love Kane’s character development, especially when I reached the last 10% of the book. Dahlia really carried this story and I adore her as well as her relationship with her sister. I can’t wait to read Preston’s book! I may be in the smallest percentile, but I NEED a book about Jude. He is so unhinged and I would love to see an enemies to lovers where we can reach a softer side of him to the point of falling in love.
i think i actually saw a hint of dahlia's backbone

gosh, this was so so good! definitely helped me out of my reading slump. loved the characters, especially Preston, he’s so funny. all the characters were amazing though and very well written i thought. the plot was good, i just wasn’t that interested in the mystery part but it didn’t drag the book. just wasn’t my thing and that’s okay. overall, this book was such a fun time, i definitely recommend it and definitely recommend the audiobook if you listen to audiobooks. Corvin King and Michelle Sparks are really great narrators and made the book even more enjoyable and lovable. i’m excited for the next one in the series!

That. Just didn’t hit. It gave *nothing*. Honestly felt like AI at some parts with how generic and bland it was. I was truly rolling my damn eyes most of this read. And with how repetitive it was. Felt like a lazy college student trying to hit the damn word count.
I loved the LOG series so I had high hopes. But maybe I should leave Rina Kent alone moving forward and hold the high that first series gave me.

New world, New characters same great storytelling!
If there is one thing you can count on, it’s that when you pick up a book by Rina Kent you won’t be able to put it down until you finish it. Beautiful Venom is the beginning of a whole new world and I’m here for it. It’s dark and twisted in true Rina fashion.

Dahlia and Kane’s story is not going to be for the weak. It’s dark, tempting and it’s going to make you question everything. I am going to suggest you go into this one blind, Rina’s books are best that way. I mean, I am going to say it’s way more than a hockey book, it’s filled with twists and turns and things I never saw coming. This is the first book in this trilogy, each book is a different couple, so in Rina gives us an HEA, but she doesn’t make it easy on any of them.
I loved this book, I did have a few WTH moments, and I do want you to read the trigger warnings on this one, it’s not going to be for everyone. But as a Rina fan it was definitely for me, and I can’t wait to read the rest!
