Listen i’m not here to judge what people like……but i think therapy would be beneficial if this is what you like. Clearly this is not for me and I knew that going in which is why i’m not giving it like a zero.
I’m not a dark romance girlie honestly and don’t think i ever will be and so the reasons i disliked this book are not because of that.
For starters the first few chapters the amount of reference to biting had me like is this a VAMPIRE HOCKEY dark romance?! that’s too many things and the answer was no. The author just felt like making it seem like that mentioning a blood ritual and biting multiple times. The hockey was unnecessary it was literally only used to transition scenes like honestly don’t even include it at that point. The secret society? also never really explored.
The whole thing was giving mafia au on tumblr fanfic.
It was entertaining but honestly not very well done. Also i don’t think the characters had any chemistry questions were never answered and antagonists were like immediately taken care of and neutralized so like there were no stakes for most of it. Like the third act breakup was stupid because like….girl yall just like having freaky sex and don’t even have real conversations.

I think this is the first book from Rina Kent from all I have read that was okish. The book was enjoyable but the plot kinda felt a little disjointed. Some actions taken by the characters made 0 sense in not only the logical way but also in how the character’s personality was portrayed till that point. The third act felt severely lacking and way too long at the same time. This being book felt more like set for Preston and Jude than a book for Kane. Though I fell in love with Preston. I can’t wait to read his story. Also this is not a hockey romance. It is a secret society mafia romance.
