A singular person finally listen to Lucy challenge.
I like the additional lore, and the mysticism surrounding a world inhabited by invisible forces (spirits?) which require a certain faith to “see” lends itself nicely to some interesting (even if a bit simplistic) themes.
Still, the warring!! Why does all of the conflict end in war?! The amount of times a fight ends with a bad character’s head getting “lopped off” is just… meh.
I have to remind myself that these are children’s books, and, as such, don’t *need* a depth of lore that you might find in, say, the Lord of the Rings. It’s good for what it is.

Again, remember so very little about this one. I seem to think that this was the last one that Susan appeared in, and I remember feeling a bit put out about the reasons for Susan's absence in future books. I liked each of the Pevensie children, except perhaps Edmund in the earlier books, and wanted all four to feature as the series progressed.
As I remember so little, I've rated it three stars based on what little I do remember from when I read it back in the late nineties. I remember enjoying all the books to some extent, but I would need a re-read to fully refresh my memory, and I don't want to re-read in case my lack of religion now means I find the more heavy-handed religious themes in some of the books put me off the series as a whole.
