A pretty solid end to this series, I just felt like this one was at the same time trying to be too complicated (so many new characters, politics, relationships, etc), and also predictable (the assasination attempt/who was the Demoran leak).
I thought the 'twist' was pretty obvious. That particular character was presented badly from the first introduction, lied about things they had no real reason to hide, and was just all around pretty shady.
I felt like the 'tension' between Sage and Alex was also pretty contrived, her reaction to his wanting to still put off the wedding was over the top given how well she understood his reasons and had seen how he was treated in regard to his status because of his father. She seemed to be maturing a lot up to, and throughout, this book, so her reaction to that didn't really fit.
I know this is a YA, but I also expected more from the sex scene when we finally got one, given how much it was resisted and alluded to for almost 3 entire books. I didn't expect it to be graphic or anything, but it was barely a paragraph and a kind of 'fade to black' moment.
I did really like that a lot of positions of power went to the women in this story. Lani and Zoraya were already powerful figures, but Sage and Clare both ended up with strong roles too, and they all worked together really well.
I was invested in Sage and Alex's story, as well as all the other characters, and this was a decent conclusion to an enjoyable series.

The twist and turns in this one to find out who the “traitor” is and all the action really picked up in this final installment! As always the romance and friendships were superb, and I’m a sucker for a happy ending. A fantastic ending for a great trilogy!

This book is about a girl who isn't good enough to match with a man when she goes to a match maker. She is instead put on a task of going undercover for the matchmaker to spy on the ladies that are seen a worthy of matching with prospective men. These women are traveling with a caravan and protected by guards and such which complicates things and sets the series up.
The political intrigue is spot on in this entire series. It also is lead by Sage who is hands down the smartest character in the book. She has enough knowledge to lead missions and attacks for her people, standing right next to the men who's responsibility it is to do so. Even though she's meant to sit back with her mouth shut and watch, she instead leads the way to victory that none of the men in the book could pull off.
Sage our main protagonist breaks down all the women and social barriers. Everything she's expected to be, she's not. She's more. Society tells her she acts and lives 'wrong'. Sage's entire character is her breaking down social barriers that she's expected to stay behind because she knows her self worth and doesn't hold herself back. She doesn't believe in the standards society has put on her as a female and holds herself to her own.
This book also has PTSD representation, and though I won't go into which character it is for and how it manifests because of major spoilers, I will say that I felt that it was well done.
The Traitor's Circle is refreshing in a way I haven't seen in a long time. And will be a reread in the future for sure.
