This has to be the single best piece of non-fiction I have read in a long time. It is an amazing story and written so well that I could hardly put it down.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this book. It is a war book, make no mistake, but it treads those waters(no pun intended) carefully by focusing more on the struggle of a man at his limits than on WWII itself.

Well written, well researched, and one hell of a read.

Good suggestion, Big Stan.

Wonderful book! I'm suprised I liked it so much given that I'm not a huge fan of nonfiction. Laura Hillenbrand proved to me I should not discount nonfiction so easily.

This is an unbelievable story and I still can't believe that it all actually happened. By far my favorite war story. I was so blown away by this book that I started reading other war stories but any other book I read just didn't compare to this one. I knew instantly that it would be a great movie and waited years before I finally found out it was picked up for a movie. Loved it.

This is one of my all time favorite audio-books. It's an extremely compelling story and the narrator is one of the best. I couldn't recommend this audio-book more.

An absolutely outstanding, and powerful story. Truly a I can't put this down page turner but often so intense I often had to take a break. The amount of detail and backstory was impressive and interesting. If you love history and don't mind an emotional roller coaster you will be rewarded by Laura Hillenbrand's story of the great Louis Zamperini.

If the book is about a war, I'd walk away. But so many people have strongly recommended this book that I succumbed. I'm so glad I did. While a nonfiction and with many parts that were hard to swallow, I couldn't put it down. It read like a novel. Even with all the details about the aeronautics, military order, and the statistics of war, it wasn't dry at all.
