Audible free, really very good, very witty and wry dialogue again, surprising breath of characters for whom the author spends a fair amount of time going into their mental conversations. Again, weaving strands for future books in the series, yet fully stand alone

DC Smith is a consummate detective! He is a man of honor and as a detective, is processing information on the fly in ways that are incredibly effective. In this installment, his phone number is found in the cell of a prison inmate who has been killed. Because of this, he is called in for an interview, making him a person of interest. This leads to a Byzantine investigation that deals with the seamy drug world of Kings Lake.
