Wayyy longer than it needed to be, knew the way it would end about 1/3 of the way in, needed slightly better editing but was fun with good characters

Even Phillipa Soo cannot make romance bearable for me

This story seemed dragged out and a bit stale. Wanted to like it but it seemed so focused on representation that the story like and characters were shadowed.

Not enough content for the length. The romance was sweet but dull. Dee’s developing relationships and work drama were much more interesting. Some satisfying character development but chapters could have been cut with no effect on the plot.

I ended up with mixed feelings about this. I loved Dee and Teddy, and I loved Dee's journey of learning to stand up for herself and how she doesn't have to be positive and grateful at all times. But, and this is very much a me thing, I wanted less workplace stuff and more romance. Workplace stuff tends to stress me out, and there was such a focus on that here, so this book just wasn't a great fit for me.
