This isn’t a bag read. For me, I was bored in the second half. I lost interest in the main characters and wanted way more romance build up. I didn’t feel the giddy feeling that I usually have when reading romances.
As always with this authors books, I loved the descriptions of the settings. As someone who grew up in Toronto, it felt like a warm hug. Especially in this book with the “questy” game the characters played. I wish the characters continued to play the game throughout the book. I think I would have been more interested.

Dee Kwan goes through life with positive manifestation, and so far, it's working for her. She's at the top of the leaderboards of her favorite online game, on the verge of a promotion at her job, and has the perfect house.
Until everything crashes.
She loses her job, and her parents and estranged grandmother are moving in.
Things are looking up as she secures a new job, becoming a consult for a luxury fashion firm in a PR crisis, but as she tries to do her job, she becomes entangled in a corporate conspiracy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was fun but not my favorite of Chu's novels.
I enjoyed the little Easter egg references to the characters in other books.
The plot was a little ridiculous, but the logic behind the characters' actions made sense, so it was fun.
I enjoyed the characterization of Dee. Her side plot tied into her character a lot, which I really enjoyed. I just wish the side plot wrapped up a little faster? It dragged on a little bit, and The way she approached the issue made sense for her characterization. She's a chronic people pleaser, but it was frustrating at times.
Teddy was a sweet male lead, but I wish there was a little more depth. I understand his side plot was him realizing that I just wanted more background from Teddy.
The Corporate Conspiracy plot was well done, but I wasn't a fan of the romance? I think it was because they confirmed their relationship early on and so there wasn't a lot of romantic tension. I wish that part was a little slower.
Overall, it's a fun book and an enjoyable listen, just not my favorite in the series.
