A great graphic-novel memoir from George Takei on his recollections of the experiences of his family interned as Japanese "enemy aliens" during WW II. I read it with my 10-year-old paired with "Maus," and sadly it feels entirely too relevant at the moment . . .

This was a heartbreaking read. I know we briefly covered the Japanese internment in my college American History course but it was very brief. This is such an important thing for Americans to read about, especially now, as it's horrifyingly relevant to current events.
