5 very strong stars for this graphic memoir by the wonderful George Takei. This is a heartbreaking story of a very dark period of US history, during which they imprisoned 120,000 Japanese Americans during WWII on American soil and viewed all of them as enemies due to the attack on Pearl Harbor. George Takei was a young boy during this time and it was really interesting to read this story that was largely based on childhood memories, but interspersed with knowledge the author learned as he grew up. It blends history/memory/information really well, while still being quite gripping and easy to read.
I think everyone should read this, it really highlights how easy it can be to turn a country against a group of people, due to the actions of a few - and reminds us that it is happening again.

George Takei is a wonderful individual and the world is lucky to have him!
