I really liked this book! But I HATED the ending. It felt so abrupt. They built up the danger of King Leck for so long. Then he shows up at Po’s castle and I was prepared for some serious action, but two pages later he’s dead. Then we find out Po is still alive but blind. Another set-up for some really interesting plot development. Aaaaand about 10 pages later the book ends. I figured the next book would pick up there but then found out the other two books in the series have different main characters. I’m so disappointed! This book was written in a way that made it seem like the beginning of a great trilogy. Now I’m just bummed that I don’t get to read more about these characters that I loved!

One of my favorite books of all time. I love to revisit it. Creative premise and wonderfully human characters.
I really enjoyed this one. The plot really picked up speed (and steam!) about halfway in, which made it even more enjoyable. I liked that there was some philosophy incorporated into the understanding of certain Graces/ powers, and the main characters really developed into multi-dimensional people.
3.5 stars. Some of the usual YA tropes but it still kept my interest and there was some decent character growth.
