One thing about Ms Christie is that she will always finish her books wrapped nicely in a little bow. The story was very interesting and I wanted to see how it was going to compare to the movie. Although I feel like they’re going to be two different stories. A very easy read and by the end I was rushing through to know who the true murderer was.

So, in the wake of the moving based on this book coming out, I wanted to finally write a review for this. From the moment I saw the trailer for "A Haunting in Venice" I was both stunned and slightly angry. How could they completely change the plot?

After I watched the movie in protest (lol), I had a bit of a change of heart. And that's not to say that I really liked the movie (it was fine). I just realized that I didn't really like this book.

The plot of Hallowe'en Party is so confusing, and not in a fun way, and the execution isn't that great either. I loved the premise but one of my biggest issues with this book is the identity of the killer and the ending. The twist of the killer's identity was so obvious. The ending was also very not Agatha Christie. The action in the ending (no spoilers) just lacks the Agatha Christie charm.

Overall, this wasn't a bad book. It's just very mediocre. I'm a huge fan of the Poirot series, and there are many better books within the series. If you want to read the entire series, like me, though, I wouldn't consider Hallowe'en Party worth a skip.
