Good plot that was executed well enough, I feel like it could have built up to some parts more.

The mutation already being in the train from the start could have been explored more

I loved the world building and cast of characters! Overall, the action wasn’t as intense as I was expecting, but the epilogue won me over at the end. A solid cozy fantasy read.

This book is a refreshing blend of creeping horror, eerie nature fantasy, and classic mystery. There is an intriguing cast of characters that kept me guessing until the end, and the narrator was absolutely fabulous at bringing them to life. There were some things that were hard to follow and confusing, but the journey was enthralling enough for it not to matter.

This book felt like stepping in a magical, strange world. It reminded my heart of emotions I felt watching Princess Mononoke by Miyazaki. It would be a perfect script for one of his movies. Loved it.
