This was a fun, light read -- perfect for the summer. My only criticism is that it seemed unrealistic that someone who is 42 would be so clueless about social media. Otherwise, very enjoyable.
The best feature of this book, for me, was the evolution of the main character. She didn't seem like she was going to change much when she was first introduced, but I was pleasantly surprised by where she was when this story ended. Other than that, there wasn't much here that surprised me. I felt most of the "twists" were telegraphed.
The authors chose to switch points of view a few times in the book, popping into the head of side characters for a few pages. If there was a pattern to when and why this happened, I couldn't see it. It annoyed me and confused me.
I found this book a little slow to get going, but once I hit the halfway point, I was in and stayed up late and put off errands to finish it. Overall, this is a light, easy read that I'd recommend if you want something to fill some time.

This is kind of the antithesis of A Devil Wears Prada in that the main character is well liked. It is probably more of a 2 star, there are no deep thoughts happening here, but bumping it up to 3 for the good "beach read" factor.
Clearly I should trust my public library more. After almost a year of this novel not being in their catalogue, I finally caved and bought a copy for vacation. My brilliant local librarians knew this was a waste of time. The books starts out interesting enough with a fun, light-hearted yet socially relevant premise: Imogen Tate, 42 year old Editor in Chief of Glossy Magazine (think Vogue equivalent with more edge) returns from a 6 month health leave to find her old 26 year old former assistant, Eve, has taken over Glossy and plans to turn it into an app - and unseat Imogen as EIC in the process. Old school vs. new school - however, as others have pointed out, 42 is hardly old school. I would have bought Imogen as being behind in the social media world but not being able to use a smart phone, really?? The book also dragged on for far too long, needed a serious edit by half. Way too many repetitive incidents where Eve sets Imogen up to fail and yet Imogen manages to save face AND eclipse Eve. One or two of those would have been fun but over and over? I got bored quickly. I gave two stars instead of one because the first third of the book was fun.
Easy read about a 40 something fashion editor being driven out of her job by a 20 something.
The Intern meets The Devil Wears Prada. I enjoyed this so much--more than I expected to. I picked it up because it reminded me of the two stories mentioned previously and because it looked cute. I got way more than cute, and I could barely put this down to do things I needed to get done. Thank whoever for a lazy Saturday where I could finish this book.
Entertaining brain candy. Exactly what I needed.
A very easy read and mindless...something to while away the hours while the snow fell...very predictable in some spots and you could see what was coming a mile away...

Cute, fast-paced, entertaining. Like "The Devil Wears Prada" (if Miranda was the nice one and Andi was the mean one) meets "Silicon Valley."
