This was made up of the worst generational stereotypes that easily had me disliking everyone in the story, including the protagonist. I left with the impression that Lucy Sykes believes all millennials that have embraced any sort of technology is the worst and anyone in older generations that embrace technology are the best. This book was just the worst for me.

Fun to read and to know that the villain would be getting her comeuppance somehow. When a mid-40s women's magazine editor returns from a long medical leave, she finds a former assistant has usurped her and that the magazine has become an app.

Things that bothered me about this (so I didn't think about them): Where is HR when all the workplace abuse is going on? And the main quandary, that there's NO WAY a successful woman in her 40s would be that ignorant of technology. Maybe if she'd been depicted as more of a Grace Coddington? But as it was, it wholly strained credulity.

Fun, frothy, and engaging.

Hopeful

It got off to a slow start, but I ended up enjoying it.

If you love the world of fashion and the the world of magazines, you might enjoy this. I did! Yes it lives in "guilty pleasure" territory, but sometimes a light, fun read is exactly what is needed. As a forty-something who uses technology daily but occasionally has to ask my 20 year old son for tech support, I really related to the struggles the main character had with getting up to speed with all the tech stuff. And you have to appreciate the very satisfying ending.

A really good book about the social media obsessed world we live in. Some of it was a little preachy and unfair towards millenials, but all in all, a really fun read.

Sort of like a Devil Wears Prada for a slightly older generation. I appreciate that the villain stayed villainous, though I did sort of see the ending coming with her.

That said, the original UK title was Tech Bitch, and while that is a thing in the book, it's not in there enough to necessitate it being the title.
