I don’t think this is a bad book, but it’s not what I expected it to be. I wanted more of the stories about her life and less of the other parts of this book, especially those in list format (I hated the list format she used and will now use it to describe what I did and didn’t like about her book)

Pros:
1. The stories of her friendships growing up.
2. The stories of her time on SNL.
3. The stories of her time on The Office.
4. The stories about her and her family.

Cons:
1. The list format she used.
2.  Her list on franchises she would reboot.
3. The chapter on why she hates roasts.
4. The chapter on her opinions of things in Hollywood.
5. The chapter on her opinions on hooking up and relationships in general.
6.  The chapter on Irish Exits.
7. The list of things that make her cry.
8. The chapter where she describes the guys she wants to date and opinions on men in general.
9. The list of her “revenge fantasies.”
10. The weird chapter about Jewish people.

Many of the things I didn’t like about the book I think would have been better if she used stories about her actual life to get to the point rather than just listing her opinions. Like I said I don’t hate this book, I just expected it to be different. Mindy is a talented comedy writer and it definitely shows in this book, but maybe this would have made a better stand-up routine than an actual book.

I really struggled through this book - there is some funny parts but it is overall very disappointing with a lot of problematic moments.
