Could not put it down... searched madly for the next book while on a business trip, even though I knew it was waiting for me at home... in some cruel joke, all the bookstores I searched had every book except for the third...

Titulo: La llegada de los tres [The Dark Tower #2]
Autor: Stephen King
Motivo de lectura: #StephenKingChallenge
Lectura / Relectura: Relectura
Mi edicion: Tapa dura, 540 paginas, Plaza & Janes
Puntuacion: 4/5

The concept of the doors was my favorite part of this book. I liked it a lot more than the first book, The Gunslinger, and I think it was because of that clash of personalities and times/places. I’ll say no more except that the characters make this series more interesting than just the main two or three that appear in the first boom.

King definitely delivered on a more complete story with this one and just like with the first one, I thoroughly enjoyed this one.  "Lobstrosities" being one of my favorite words in a book, ever.  Detta made me lol almost every time.  While the story was fun and had a much stronger narrative it pretty much leaves all the same questions as the first which I kept finding to be frustrating.  I did not expect this story to be so contained to one premise.  Also gotta say that I HATE the Phil Hale illustrations.  Those really are the only detractions I have and out of the pure enjoyment I had reading I feel I should be rating higher but I'm all too aware that it could've been slightly better.

This is a five star read for me. I loved this book. I have been circling starting the Dark Tower for years but was intimidated by it. I really didn’t know what to expect. Well, it totally subverted my expectations in the best way possible. What Stephen King did with this story was amazing. I can’t wait to read The Waste Lands!
