sorry, aber es scheint als ob sich die handlung während des schreibens immer wieder spontan verändert hätte (siehe die tauchmeisterin julia irgendwo gegen das ende).
das geheimnis um julias vergangenheit war keine überraschung, eher ein "aha", und da dieses keine rolle fürs mysterium vom buch spielt, hätte ich es lieber ganz am anfang erfahren (aber klar, dann hätte frau kuhn die flexibilität des erfindens beim grad schreiben verloren). so hätte julia ein paar punkte in sympathie bei mir gewonnen und ich hätte sie nicht so nervig und doff empfunden.
kurz gefasst: das einzige geheimnis, das intrigue kreiert hat (oder haben sollte), hat sich allein gelöst, (fast) ohne input oder steuerung seitens der characteren. das geheimnis, das nicht so wichtig war (julias), würde wie gold gehütet und plötzlich am ende wird für den leser gelüftet, ohne eine klare logik die zur handlung passte. und das allgemeine und klare geheimnis um das tal herum ist das einzige, das wenigstens mich zum lesen der anderen bücher bringen würde, aber sicher nicht den styl, die characteren (hochbegabte, ha!) oder die super aus dem nichts entstandene liebesgeschichte... *roll* jetzt muss ich nun zur bibliothek gehen. ich investiere kein geld mehr in diese bücher ¬¬

This book was actually really good. I didn't know what to expect at first, but I really kept my interest and had a really good storyline happening. I'm definitely gonna read the next one :)

Krystyna Kuhn patří mezi moje oblíbené spisovatelky a tak jsem nemohla vynechat ani tuto sérii. A nezklamala mě! Sice Popelčina kletba se mi líbila ještě o něco víc, ale přesto jsem si Hru užila. Mám opravdu ráda její styl psaní a dokážu se do jejích knížek začíst hned od první stránky. Ačkoliv se příběh rozjel teprve někdy v půlce, bavila mě knížka celá. A i samotná zápletka byla dobře promyšlená. Těším se na další díly téhle série, protože podobné tajemné příběhy mám hodně ráda.

Good book; read this in a English, and it was quite a good book, really spooky, there were some bits that had me wondering who was behind me (no one, obviously), and 'Julia' and 'Robert' are secretive characters that are always being wondered about. I always thought they had a deeper secret than the real secrete though. The last 6 lines in Chapter 26 freaked the life out of me. Finding out who the real antagonist really surprised me.
Only lost a mark because of lack of emotion and fun in the dialogue and script, even though it was a strong book for mystery and secrets. Also, Chris should have had a bigger secret.

Super spannend und mysteriös! Ich muss sofort den zweiten Teil lesen!!
Allerdings brauchte ich ein wenig, um mit Julia und den anderen Charakteren warm zu werden.

There is no magic altough we are hinted at some paranormal activity that doesn't really pay off at the end. Hopefully it will develop fully in next installment as this is not a stand alone book but a trilogy. The thing that I can't find the second one just yet annoys me a bit.
Though I have to say characters aren't fully developed too. Yes, each one has a different quirk that makes them different from each other but all talk more or less the same and if we weren't forced into that Rose is bald, Debbie wants to be the star and David is the perfect knight and Chris is mysterious we might loose sight of who is who.
