This one didn’t catch my attention as much as the first one did immediately, but as soon as I had a day to sit down and read, I was immediately hooked. There were some plot twists closer to the end for Elli and her life that I would’ve never expected, and it was difficult to put the book down after that point. Recommend reading the trigger warnings for the book just in case, but excellent book nonetheless

If you read and loved The Ritual, run to read The Sinner. There is nothing fluffy, sweet, and sparky about this book; if you love the dark and depraved, this is the book for you. Shantel writes darker than black and twisted as hell. So, if you haven't read her books before, I would advise reading the trigger warnings.
As for myself, I gobbled up this book like a diabetic in a candy store. Sin is OTT jealous and protective and never takes no for answer. Elli embraces her inner demons, and when you combine these 2 things, you get a lot of smokin' hot, morally grey, and deviant smexy time.
Can't wait for the next installment written within this world!
