Ugh, this was SO bad it’s not even funny. Overcomplicated, nonsensical in some places and downright stupid in others. It’s like the author wanted to be so dark and edgy but failed miserably. I could live with nipple piercings being “the worst searing pain” (lol) and getting a bath with them freshly pierced (hello infection), but I draw the line at skindrafting over cutout rebranded brand (make it make sense). The writing in the first book was bad, but I could overlook it for the spice. Here it’s so bad it’s like it was AI writing with promps like “druggy rapey edgelords” (pun intended). No thanks.

I did enjoy this book. I get the love and the message that we are all lovable even those with trauma. That no matter how much damage is done we can all find love and people who can understand and accept us. However there are a LOT of triggers here.

The first book was a 100 times better. I was slightly disappointed with this one. I had to have a week break half way through. The only way I can explain it is rapey. Nothing like the first book with an actual love build up along with the strong sexual activities which were dark but fun!

The story dragged in ‘The Sinner’ constantly going round in circles. The last couple of chapters changed up and made it more interesting. Makes me want to know more about the ‘Spade Brothers’

If the first one wasn’t so good I wouldn’t have completed this one, but once I start something I can’t stop. Fingers crossed the last four are as exciting as the first.
