This book was super witty, fast-paced, a quick and delightful read. I was captivated by August a few pages in and was even more so with every new part of his life, from growing up inside of the theater to his numerous petty crimes, and everything in between.

Born and raised in a theater, August March is known as the Scarsenguard spirit. That’s right, everyone who sees him thinks he’s a ghost. And so begins the strange tale of August March. It’s Absurd. Weird. A little over the top with a cast full of quirky characters. It's both humorous and heartbreaking.

I don’t know what else to say except read it and discover its charm for yourself. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it was still delightful. I really did enjoy the story and the narration of the audiobook.

I was amused, surprised, moved, shocked, and tickled with the astonishing life of August March. While the events that unfolded were definitely ridiculous and on the cusp of unbelievable, it was just so; it was realistic enough to not take you out of the story and still keep its fragile touch on being delightfully fantastical. The characters were charming and annoying and generally so entertaining to be around, and I really just enjoyed the read.
