These two men are just everything. Their love, hate, anger, heartbreak…all their emotions are so hard to take. They are raw and real and the pain is gritty. Such a good story.

Great 2nd book!
It turns out that I love the 2nd book more than the first. Didn't see that coming. Let's hope there is another book in the series!
The book kept me on the edge and I couldn't put it down, amazing read!

Again I have the same complaint - I needed this to be first person for me to be truly immersed in the story and feel the emotional turbulence experienced by both Carter and Nathan/Travis, and not feel like a bystander.
I actually did like the relationship between Carter and Nathan, and seeing Nathan trying to figure out how he could make things right between them so he didn't lose the man he loves did have me warming to him slightly, but I'm still unsure as to how I really feel about what he was doing to Carter when he didn't have to... Again, a lot of grey and black areas, but this story just pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading regardless of my personal opinion of the 'bad' characters.
I did like the way the operation was concluded, even if it did feel a bit OTT and far fetched, but I liked how there weren't a load of loose ends or unfinished plot points.
I did really like Carter, I just wish I'd been more inside his head to see what he was thinking and feeling, rather than being told by a narrator. I even started to really like Travis, but I just don't enjoy a book as much with that detachment from the emotions of a character.

repetition and too long
however I'm intrigued and invested enough to read the last book. I need their HEA.

This was a very solid read, between 4-4.5 stars. I usually start reviews by breaking down what I disliked, but I feel that this time I want to talk about what I liked the most, because I got more positive things to say about this book.
From the writting style (though I wish), to how engaging the story managed to be, the book had me in a chokehold. Since it is the second book, I knew what I was getting into when I was going for the sequel, and to my expectations it was exactly what the first book was, in a good way. There wasnt anything the first in the series hadnt explored, and I would even argue this one felt kind of sweeter and tamer, which is fine by me because I needed a break. This leads me to having to point out again that these books are not for everyone since they have a lot of heavy and dark content, which I am fine with when the story is told in a sort of believable course of action. That is exactly the case here, because while I think , it had the power to keep me turning the pages. Some people might think that it is easy, but I actually think its the greatest attribute an author can develop, and the author does not disappoint in that aspect.
I do have to admit, that one and only criticism I could possible think of, is that I kind of wish these books were a bit longer, because towards the last chapters, but to be honest I dont mind it that much because it had me gripping my seat most of the time anyway. About the ending, I cant say I feel annoyed at
Regarding the couple, I find their dynamic steadier here, which is good since the reason I only gave the first book 4 stars is that I wasnt too convinced by the pace of their 'relationship'. Here, it reached a point where I saw more development as part of the plot (but really, how can it work when everything is so fucked up? good thing this is fiction, because this is clearly). I am still not completely sold, which is why it is still not a perfect book in my eyes, but maybe I will like the third one even more and finally feel for Travis and Carter (my disregard for the name Nathan is on purpose). Cant wait to get my hands into the final book.

it felt that everything was happening a little too fast, and I think it would have elevated the book to see more instead of being toldSpoiler
how the books sort of end in a "cliffhanger", because it makes me want to pick up the other faster to know the rest, and I like that it keeps me on edge.Regarding the couple, I find their dynamic steadier here, which is good since the reason I only gave the first book 4 stars is that I wasnt too convinced by the pace of their 'relationship'. 5⭐️ Amazing follow-up to book one. Suspenseful, angsty, action-packed, heart-wrenching, and emotional.
The truth is out, Carter knows about the operation that will save thousands of trafficked slaves, and he knows that his brother and Nathan have been lying to him all along. He is gutted and devastated. But he doesn’t even have time to really come to terms with those feelings of betrayal because they still have a dangerous mission to complete.
The trust and relationship between Carter and Nathan (Travis) is broken and feels irreparable. But I love how the author still gives us hope that things will eventually work out between them. I cannot wait to read the final book.
I am so attached to these characters, I’m going to miss them when I’m finished.
