There’s no reason for this book to be as long as it is. The plot seems promising, but I cannot get past the writing.

I tried so hard to get into this one, especially since it was chosen for a book club but I just could not.
I felt that the prose wasn’t great, and while I was excited about the story in the beginning, I just felt like it was too much like the Witcher, and once I made those connections, I couldn’t get through it without constantly feeling like I was reading the Witcher but worse.
