By this point in the book, not much had happened, and each chapter felt like it was building up to something, only for the next one to skip over it (and usually skip time).
The author's flowery but repetitive descriptions also didn't help, as it felt like this section of the book could probably have been half as long and still conveyed the same amount of information.
From what I read, not a bad book, but not for me (might give it a second chance at another time)

This book was kinda meh. I have been following Piper on social media and enjoy her content. She really hyped this series up and in general it seemed to have good reviews. However, as I got into the first book it was very clear how little editing was done in this edition. That, along with her very expressive and flowery language made the book pretty hard to read, despite being a fairly interesting story on it's own. I found myself often rolling my eyes at some of her descriptors that were meant to be serious or invoke a certain emotion.
Then, after reading into some of the drama surrounding this book more, I began to see how some people would find it problematic. I almost DNF many times but kept with it. Wasn't really worth my time but perhaps if you are a person who likes the writing style like this, you will find it enjoyable.
