So I started reading this and instantly had a few thoughts. One: nothing good is ever linked to the name Ophelia it seems. No that has nothing to do with the book per se but I thought it while reading and this is a review so there you go. Two: that bitch. Yup that gem came out too. Three: power always corrupts and using it for personal gain always bites you in the ass and this time was no different and it was an enjoyable ride.

Ilana: love her. badass half-vampire chick hells to the yes. who does not love kick-ass half breeds showing their pure blood naysayers that they are just as fucking awesome, if not more so? No one. Because everyone loves that. And I have to say for not being of the incubus race she sure is a naughty thoughts kind of girl. Loved it.

Ezekiel was everything an incubus prince should be. Sexy, lusty, and well just all-around fine. But he had something you do not usually see in a prince of hell or an incubus: a conscience. Which of course makes him sexier. Sex demon that wants you to be happy and satisfied? Umm, what girl be dumb enough to pass that up?

Okay the world itself. It was cool. Reading about the demon realms with living creatures and people, not just a place where dead sinners are tortured, was fascinating and intriguing. It reminded me of many Asian TV and movies that depict hell and demons as another humanoid race. Not inherently evil, just different and magical. That part was cool.

The plot itself was a bit obvious before the end of chapter two. I knew where they were going with it. But then again most romances are like that. You read them for a happily ever after so they have to follow a specific plotline to get there. Only so much you can do with that guaranteed ending. But that did not make the stuff in-between less interesting neither will I say there are no surprises (though the blurb itself kind of gives a whole lot away no lie).

All in all a good sexy read.

Ilana was always told she is half human half vampire. She is treated as less than but is called up to fight in the war against Ophelia. She has always fantasized about Ezekiel, a prince and incubus. Ezekiel has been cursed for the last 200 years along with the 3 other princes. Fighting the war against the Blood Queen has consumed his life until Ilana catches his eye.

This story was full of twists and turns. It was filled with steamy scenes, action, wonderful characters, and magic.

Book one in the [b: Dark Princes of Purgatory] series tells the story of Ilana and Ezekiel—a half-vampire soldier, and the succubus prince whose love and devotion could be her downfall. Robertson has done a fantastic job bringing to life the realm of Purgatory and its inhabitants. Whilst this book is largely set in the incubus realm, the author never copped out by using sex as a space filler—instead it was used to enhance the story line. Overall, this was a great book—quality plot, quality characters, and quality writing. If you’re a fan of the genre, I’d recommend giving it a read.

Curse of Seduction: Dark Princes of Purgatory is the first book C.R. Robertson’s newest steamy paranormal romance series. In this book, the author takes readers on a journey into Purgatory where four dark princes are cursed and bound to a queen who craves total control and will do anything and everything in her power to have it. This story focuses on Ezekiel, an incubus prince, who is the focus of the Blood Queen’s attentions. He has resisted her for over 200 years. His curse, while it brings him no physical pain, brings him mental anguish at the cost it exacts on those that he feeds from. His world is changed forever when his eyes meet those of a young vampire named Ilana. She’s never been able to stomach the touch of another man throughout her life nor feed like a true vampire, but all of that is about to change. Fate has stepped in and war, love, and change are at hand.
Curse of Seduction is one of the best books that I have read by this author! The author expertly and beautifully sets the stage with the prologue of this book to pique the reader’s interest in the characters and each of their stories in turn! This book focuses on Ezekiel and Ilana. Ezekiel, a cursed incubus prince, and Ilana a vampire hybrid with a secret that even she doesn’t know about! (Are you interested yet?!) The author is quick to give readers a villain that they will absolutely despise more and more as the story goes on and they learn more about the twisted queen. There is more than one character to despise though as the author shows another character that brings rot to the family name.
Once you start reading this book, it quickly becomes one of those “hard to put down” ones. There are some twists, turns, surprises, and even a couple of spoilers. As this book is a paranormal romance, there are several steamy scenes scattered throughout. Now, for readers who are concerned about things…" going too far” or getting too much detail…the author doesn’t get too graphic with the scenes. My only complaint really is the few spoilers at the end of the story in the epilogue. I understand the point of the epilogue as it gives readers a glimpse into the future and what their lives are like, but it also reveals things to come. I know that we all know that it’s going to happen eventually, but the fun is waiting on what’s to come.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. This author brings an engaging storyline that hooks readers from the beginning. A unique vampire who is going to change everything in Purgatory by simply existing and uncovering a secret that her family has kept hidden for years. The time for all to be revealed has come and the time to fight is now. If you enjoy paranormal romance novels then this is a book that I recommend. I can’t wait for the next installment that will tell Raegel and Agatha’s story.

Curse of Seduction by CR Robertson is the first book in the Dark Princes of Purgatory series. The story is a great fantasy with witches, vampires, curses, and more. Ezekiel has been cursed by an evil Queen. The curse harms every woman he takes blood from. What will happen when Ezekiel meets Ilana? Ilana has always felt defective, but when she meets Ezekiel everything starts to change. I really enjoyed the story and the relationship that Ezekiel and Ilana form. There are challenges and passion between the two that develops. Can the two of them battle the curse before Ilana is changed forever? The writing leads a wonderful and interesting story with a good development of the characters. I look forward to seeing more in this series and reading more from this author.

This is a story for those over the age of 18 only, there are many scenes of violence and an adult nature.

The story begins in the demon realm of Purgatory where the four dark prince's Ezekiel, Valek, Raegel and Lycidas in a meeting room on neutral ground with the Blood Queen Ophelia where their fathers have agreed a truce, but unknown to them, Ophelia intends to curse the four princes. As her devious plan comes to fruition, as the princes try to fight the curse settling in, they lose and come under her thrall.

Next we are 200 years later and with Ilana, a vampire-human hybrid who is fighting in a battle for the Vampire Prince, and after she returns, showers and gets dresses, she finds that she has to attend a feast with everyone else, including her best friend Mia, she has a bag of blood before going as she can’t partake of the festivities like any normal vampire would. However, she hadn’t realised that the four dark princes including the Incubus Prince Ezekiel would be there as well and as their eyes meet as she tries to sneak out of the feast unnoticed, she immediately feels something strong and unknown. When Ezekiel sees that Ilana isn’t feeding like everyone else, he is intrigued as to why and when their eyes meet, he realises that there is more to this vampire than meets the eye.

The next day, the reason that Ezekiel and the other princes are there is revealed and it is to see how all the four realms can work together as a team to defeat the Blood Queen. Each demon type goes through a series of trials and this involves training combat with each of the other demon kinds. Ilana shows enough talent and mysterious abilities, however, she feels that she hasn’t done well and a certain ability shows itself when her life was in semi-danger during the training. When everyone finds out which teams they are in, Ilana is shocked and amazed to find that she has been picked by Ezekiel.

This is where their paths begin to intertwine and the mysteries in their past present and future seek to both tie them together, yet at the same time rip them apart. As they find out more about each other, the curse and the realms around them, how the future will turn out is unknown as every step of the way as there are barriers to break down, hurdles to cross and new experiences to have.

This has to be read to the end to be fully understood and experienced, it is a tale of passion, seduction, realisation and determination which will take you on a whirlwind ride in more ways than one!

I loved this book! This is a paranormal story that is full of action, suspense and even some romance. I was pulled into the story right from the beginning. It is an engaging story that had me turning pages to the end. The characters are creative, they range from witches to vampires to werewolves and a few more. I had no problems connecting with them. They are supportive of each other which made the story easy to read. Ilana has finally come into her witch powers only to have Ezekiel, a prince, find her in his army. A curse was put on four princes by the Blood Queen and Ezekiel is one of them. Can he be saved before his curse turns Ilana into a sex slave? I read this book in one sitting as it is that good. I highly recommend this book and this author
