Svět a magický systém mě opravdu nadchly, přišlo mi to hodně originální a neokoukané.

Stačilo a já jdu teď najít knížku, kterou si spravím chuť.

I did like this book. I just didn’t love it. I think that the premise of the book is interesting, and there were parts of the book that I was truly enthralled. I think my biggest qualm about the writing had more to do with dialogue between characters. There were times where the dialogue felt formal, and then other times where it was incredibly informal. This resulted in lines sounding anachronistic next to one another, which pulled me out of the plot several time.

I think the development of relationships between characters was done well, and the pace was great. Besides for the dialogue, I felt that the characters and plot equally impacted one another for the better.  While some characters’s growth was minimal, others had more significant changes.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to listen to the audiobook of To Cage A God.

This was really enjoyable to listen to. I felt it was well paced but not too quick that I lost track of the story. There are definitely strong Grishaverse vibes which I loved!

I loved the characters and how they grew throughout the book, and felt the relationships were really dynamic.

Cannot wait for the next book in the series as I feel like this is quite different from a lot of fantasy books these days.

I really enjoyed this! It was a excellently crafted world. The plot was intriguing and both the romances were well developed. Exploring the new blooming relationship between Galina and Vasilisa and the passionate more experienced relationship between Sera and Vitalik. I really like their dymanic of past lovers reunited again after they left each other and just exploring their history along with the present plot.

The plot was great with the overarching issue of the gods being caged inside the alurea, I'm excited to see this explored more throughout the ongoing war. I was curious that we didn't see the revolution against the tyranny of the empress, as a much larger force of people. We only really explore the whole revolution through four major character point of views. This seems small for a revolution, and it was referenced they have other allies and spies e.g. Anna so I'm hoping more notable characters will come in to play as part of the revolution. I imagine they have much larger secret forces that are unexplored.

Katya was a great POV to read from to experience her suffering. When the chapters between Sera and Galina were back to back of them getting it on with their partners, and then we had poor Katya stuck in the prison cells, it was rough this whole book for my girl until the end. I love her character and can't wait for her to be explored more outside of being the Empress' handmaiden. (Also the relationship between them was explored well, the dynamic of a empress and her slave, portrayed the abuse Katya had to endure).

Overall, the romances and the character work really carried this book. I can't wait for the next part of the series to see where it will go. 4.5 ⭐

This was for me a thrilling fantasy that had engaging plot front the get go but also balanced the romance perfectly.

I am sucker for a rebellion plot and overthrowing tyrants hence why this worked for me but the fantasy elements of inhabitanting gods which are dragons from another world and using their powers was super interesting. I liked that this was also multi POV which again is something that always works for me and I honestly our 2 main romantic pairings were great! I loved the banter & whit between each couple.

The writing style was a big standout for me - I just clicked with and it flowed so effortlessly.

Although it didn't give me that 5 star feeling I definitely enjoyed this alot and honestly alot more than I thought I would due to having mixed reviews.

Not a terrible book. I gave it three stars because I felt that it rushed a bit. I loved the concept and most of the plot ^^
