3.5 rounded down. It took me a while to get into this, but once I was about 15% in, I was COMPLETELY sold for specific reasons (*cough* Vitaly's intro *cough*

I just couldn't seem to get into this one. At first the two main characters were introduced in a hurry, followed by their big plan. This was all in the first 10 chapters.
After that it was really slow, and I honestly struggled to get through some parts. It just never felt like the stakes were high, as they could always seem to get out using their godpowers.
Overall I feel like the introduction of the characters as well as their huge plan could've been a bit more drawn out, so as to set the pace a little steadier instead of throwing a lot of information at the reader in the first few chapters and then slowing down the plot incredibly. I did enjoy the general idea of godpowers and how the two main characters got them, but I would've liked a little more explanation about how they specifically were chosen by Irina.

Listen I really liked this. Loved the world building, loved the romance and LOVED the politics. I swear world building and politics are so important to me when reading and this was done well in my opinion. It gave eragon meets Grisha verse.
