It was good, not great. I thought it sounded good it just wasn’t executed the best. The plot and characters kind of all felt like ripoffs from other fantasy stories like Throne of glass and A court of thrones and roses. I also feel like the romance was rushed and just kind of happened. I wish the tension was dragged out more instead of just then immediately being like they have feelings for each other. Graves was supposed to be brooding and closed off and yet all of a sudden after their first meeting he’s opening up and saying he can’t be without her.
Overall, not my favorite but not something I really disliked, I just have no desire to finish the series. 3/5

This turned into a better story than I expected. Yes, it was predictable but the writing was decent and the Holly King was perfectly untrustworthy!

This just wasn't for me. The writing wasn't my favorite and I'm not smart enough to know why exactly? But I did read a review saying the book felt like it needed another round or two of editing and that sounds about right.

This books is such a unique fantasy that intricately weaves in Celtic Mythology and has you on your toes guessing what will happen next. You see two characters working together as a means to an end starting to gradually evolving from partners into something deeper revealing their paths are a bit more intertwined then originally thought. I just loved this book, I could not put it down! K.A. Linde has written such a unique fantasy world and storyline.
