Absolutely beautiful and bittersweet. Unique concept of wishes and how they are logistically controlled and monitored by global politics, and the dilemmas around the ethics and morals of wish-making. Each character’s story and circumstance was different but easy to connect with. I loved them all. The final story(ies) in the trilogy was breathtaking.

Super affecting, funny, incisive storytelling. Charismatic and dynamic art style and layouts. Intricate worldbuilding that works equally well as satire/commentary. I absolutely loved this.

Oh wow, I really enjoyed this! I can’t believe it took me so long to finally read it. I’m sure that CBRL will be happy to have their wonderful graphic novel back on their shelf. 😅

I loved everything about this story. I loved the idea of wishes, I loved the social commentary around who has access to wishes and what is considered a worthy wish. And I loved seeing these people’s lives and how they were changed because of wishes. I loved how Shokry struggled between his want to do good with his last wish and his religious beliefs, as well as the bit about how the West had so much influence.

I legit teared up during Shawqia’s story, because it felt so true. And I felt so happy, and yet so sad, for her that she was able to use her wish and get a second chance (sort of).

There was just so many fantastic aspects of this graphic novel, I really can’t recommend it enough.
