What a beautiful story - the art was amazing, and touched upon colonialism and capitalism. I enjoyed the format, especially the chapter on depression.

What I will say is some of the stories felt too abrupt in the end, I would have liked more follow up after the wishes rather than just “he went past her” type thing. But I just thought the book was so charming, which brought my score up.

this graphic novel felt full of life, mostly because of the characters and strong world-building.

it's basically three interconnected stories. compared to the other characters, the first story felt a bit rushed. the middle story was my favourite, although i also liked the last story and its reveal. however, by the end one character was getting very repetitive, so i thought that section could have been cut down slightly.

i liked the art style and even though the colour parts are stunning, the black and white sections (which is the majority of the book) didn't feel lacking. the miscellaneous documents in between the stories to give more backstory was a nice touch too.
