Beth O'Leary delivers another stunning, emotional romance with this incredible story of second chances and growth. There were some truly dark moments here — Marcus's entire character was very difficult to handle, often — alongside the traditional lighthearted moments of road trip arcs. I found myself flying through this one, which I think was due to the structure: short chapters and well-timed flashbacks. The entire journey was well-written and well-earned. This is certainly a book which will stay with me for a while.

THIS BOOK REQUIRES TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR SEXUAL AND EMOTIONAL ABUSE.
I just couldn’t get along with this book. I didn’t like the relationship between Dylan and Addie (horrible names btw) before they broke up nor at the end of the book. I really just couldn’t picture them together and didn’t ship them at all. All the characters are two dimensional, and rich to the point they felt fake and so distant from real life that I really struggled connecting with them on any level. O’Leary’s books have been on such a downhill trajectory that I won’t be buying her next book until it has high enough ratings to convince me otherwise.

<mild spoilers>
I thought this book was okay, was a little disappointed as I have absolutely loved Beth O’Leary’s other books. I struggled to like some of the characters, especially Marcus, and despite the cold act he was supposed to be given a redemption arc I still think he was mainly insufferable and everyone gave him wayy too many chances.
