This is the sequel to "Night Watch" and was wonderful! I highly recommend it for fans of non-traditional fantasy. My only complaint is that sometimes all the plotting gets kind of complicated. I think that was intended, though.

This book picks up where Night Watch left off. This story is told more from the point of the Day Watch, the Dark others that keep an eye on the Light ones in Moscow.
The picture painted of the Dark Others in Night Watch is challenged as you get to know the Dark Ones of the Day Watch. They are Others, magical beings, yet they love, laugh, fight, dream just like the Light Ones.
The characters drew me in so deeply and each story built upon the others so well that I didn't want this book to end. There are two truths to each story and the Light and Dark both contain the dark and light of the other.
I loved it.

Book 2 in the Watch trilogy brings us 3 more interwoven stories about the Night and Day Watches of Moscow.
I enjoyed this one more than the first, in part because it felt more nuanced. The Day Watch and Dark Others in general were given a much more human face.
Some characters from the first book return, and others are new. Along the way we learn more about the history of the Others, the working of the Twilight and more.

Don’t know why I thought the second one would be better but it wasn’t.
