At first I was only used to Wattpad stories, and I was quite critical of books in general. But oh my, was I wrong. I got the whole twisted book collection and just finished twisted love. Let me tell you - I fell in love with the characters. Being used to long Wattpad stories, this one felt pretty short. But not in a bad way. I just want more of them.
I highly recommend this book and it's a sweet enemy's to lovers story that goes a bit deep mentally.
I can't wait to read the next one.
This book was a 10/10.
The spice was good too ^^

Ps.: there’s a show coming out on Netflix about this book 🙂‍↕️

This book was SO unexpected and not at all what I thought it would be.

Was it a billionaire romance? Yes
Was it little sister and older brothers best friend trope? Yes
Was it enemies to lovers? Yes
Was it grumpy sunshine? Yes
Was there spice? Yes
Did it discuss trauma? Yes
Did it discuss panic attacks? Yes
Did it involve a family member unaliving? Yes
Did it involve people unaliving others? Yes

And the list goes on… this book was more than just a romance with all of the tropes. This book was SO heavy and I urge you to check your trigger warnings.

I really am so glad I finally started this series. It was such a pleasant surprise. Is it true it is being made into a Netflix series? I certainly hope so! 🥰

so hey girl he’s abusing you!! I personally would not have let that slide!! hope this helps!!
real talk I'm so sick of authors romanticizing emotional abuse behavior. like he stalks her, love bombs her, manipulates her, threatens violence against any guy who comes near her effectively isolating her from having any male friends, and Josh is right to be pissed!! GET AWAY FROM HIM GIRL!! There’s a way to do overprotective that isn’t abusive but this was not that. Harmful for younger audiences by giving this couple a happy ending. ALSO, can we talk about the subtle pedophilia that’s going on here? He hates every single woman and can’t love them because they’re too adult and mature and emotionally intelligent for him, but then he finds this naive spunky happy girl who dresses noticeably younger and is four years younger than him and all of a sudden she’s the exception to the rule. HUH???? Anyways. Weird choices of stuff to romanticize here.

I'm a fan of Anna Huang's other books, especially her Kings of Sin series, but this was really dark for my taste. Ava's brother Josh asks his best friend Alex to look out for her while he's abroad for a year. The two fall in love, but little do Ava and Josh know that Alex is plotting his revenge against the people who murdered his family, and his emotions are getting in the way of his vengence. But at the same time, the mere thought of Ava being with another man is enough to tilt Alex toward violence. I don't mind a morally gray love interest, but Alex leans a little too hard into violent stalker territory for my taste.

That one scene in HOTD 1x06 where Alicent and Cole are talking, and she turns and stares him down because he called Rhaenyra a cunt, but it’s me (Alicent) and Alex Volkov (Cole).
