I'd give this book 6 stars out of 5 if I could.

A real page-turner! This book started out a bit slow, but once I got to page 35 I was definitely hooked and finished it within a few days. It's got a really nice balance of suspenseful plot movement and slice-of-life touches, that keep you interested in both the psychological aspects of the characters and the outside things that are happening to them. There is rich detail to everything.
All that being said, the language is fairly simple, which really helps it in the "page-turner" category. Not sure how much of that is in the writing and how much of it is in the translation, though!
Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now reading the second book of the series.
