I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters and the chemistry between them. What a jaw drop at the end!!!
This book was ok.. Pretty predictable, but that was my only real complaint. The characters seemed pretty real and relatable. I enjoyed the book, and it was a light read, so I finished it in just a few hours.
I will be reading the remaining books in the series.

Erica seems so.... Clueless?? Several awful have happened to her but she always feels like nothing is going to happen. Started to irritate me in book 2
I was hooked from the very beginning with this series!!! I literally run to my room to read these when a new one comes out! Great progression and I love the characters.
Okay, I'm going to be honest and say I read a lot of romance novels. Very similar to romantic comedies, there's a template, or a formula, that you follow. Some of the better ones have a plot that deviates from the norm (off the top of my head, the norm is mistaken identity, fighting with each other until you fall madly in instalove, either super wealthy or titled dude, depending on the era, ending with marriage 100% of the time, pregnancy 75% of the time...there are a surprising amount of kidnappings that threaten to take women to Gretna Green to get married against their will. It's all very dramatic.) Guess what...I like romantic comedies. And I like romance novels. There's something comforting in their predictability. It's fantasy masquerading as realistic fiction. I forgive a lot of bad books because they are romance novels, if they are just following a formula.
I prefer the regency romance novel, of which there are approximately a gagillion books out there, but I've been trying to branch out into other sub-genres. The paranormal can get a little stupid because I can't ignore the bad world building. There are a few exceptions and they're probably the ones that people are emulating (J.R. Ward and Sherrilyn Kenyon are some of the better ones). I decided maybe I needed to go straight current day, no gimmicks romance. I had a few decent (re: tolerable) books under my belt and launched into this one.
This one was no good. Oh man. I should have known I wouldn't have liked the billionaire chasing a young college grad set up. Is this supposed to be a knock off Fifty Shades of Gray? I didn't read that either because I know I won't like it. Listen Erica, this Blake guy is emotionally abusive and a stalker. The only thing he seems to have going for him is his obnoxious amount of money and...that might be it? Apparently he's really good at sex, so that's something.
The sex scenes were a little cringe worthy too. Listen, I know my standard romance sex scenes. There are authors who do it well and I will read every single book written by them. I don't typically put my romance novel reading on goodreads, because frankly, it's a little embarrassing how prolific I am, but this one was just so awful I felt like I needed to do a service and warn people off.

I read where someone reviewed this and said this series is just like fifty shades of grey. Well it’s not, Blake doesn’t have a pleasure room filled with every knickknack. Yes they do bump uglies a lot, but it’s nothing like fifty shades. Blake is controlling but Erica isn’t a submissive woman she’s very head strong.
Super handsome, young billionaire (who is a god of sex ofc) meets beautiful, young woman with problems story. Nothing suprising. I would like to kick Blake in the face tho.
It's not a bad book, not too good either. It's ok. I will probably continue with this series, because I like books like this one from time to time.

Am I the only one the was expecting more? These books are so expensive (only got it because it was on sale for $1.99) and to me they were half a story. A lot of scenes we're told about after they've happened, and if you do get a scene it's so brief you really can't make anything of if.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but unfortunately this story was missing depth to me. I didn't feel connected to the characters at all. Their drama was touched on so mildly that I really didn't feel anything when she told us the big secret.
I wish we had gotten more emotion from the characters and a better understanding of what was going on. Normally I hate detail, most of the time you get way to much of it, this book was the opposite. I needed more. I still really enjoyed the book, not sure if I'll continue with the series however, $7.99 for an ebook is insane especially it I wasn't really into it.
