i bought this on a whim as it was cheap and id heard about it..Whilst reading it i found i was quickly drawn in and making speedy progress. There were times when i felt myself become unsure, Erica's character really wound me up at timea, but then that end hooked me, im a sucker for a good ending. Im off to find book 2!

Meh. Something was missing in here. I didn't like Ali, nor Blake. We'll see how the 2nd book goes.

Just okay

I tried liking this one, I really did. I even got past the 50% mark but the stakes aren’t high and it just put me to sleep. I think because of Blake being a hacker, I expected this book to be a bit more on the techy side, but all I keep reading about is how Blake is so hot and Erica’s inner struggle of “do I fuck him or not?”. I’m fully aware this is tagged as erotica—it would’ve been enjoyable if their s*x scenes were at least good.

I liked Blake’s character at first, especially because it was really sweet of him to guide her about work stuff and helped expand her connections a bit. What irked me was
the moment he overstepped his boundaries and he didn’t even bother to apologize about it. He just let Erica be until she caved and sent him an “i miss you” text”—which he didn’t even bother to respond, by the way. It took him days to show up, and when he did, all he said was how hot she looked. Honestly, this man should’ve just hired a hooker with his billions and leave Erica alone to focus on her business.
And she was stupid too for apologizing when she was the one who was wronged.

After that scene, I couldn’t bring myself to like the guy anymore. And I don’t like anyone here except probably Sid who just minds his own business.

Awesome start to a very addicting series. I love that the heroine is a strong self sufficient female. Erica is the perfect techy geek with a startup that is looking for funding. She bumps into Landon and that is when the fun begins, only she doesn't know it. This is going to be such a fun series to read, I can see myself getting quickly sucked in and finishing this in 5 days!!

Review:
I don't think this was the best romance novel ever, but it had it's good moments. The hero in this story, Blake, was so swoon worthy and I adored his character. I wasn't a huge fan of how controlling he was and how he felt the need to control every aspect of Erica's life. But, his hotness and cuteness kind of made up for that and it wasn't hugely present to annoy me or anger me. The heroine was ok, she wasn't the best. Her mood swings gave me whiplash, one minute she was all over Blake and thinking about telling him she loves him, then she says she hates him and then she goes back to loving him. Girl, make you mind up! Other than that, I did enjoy her character and how confident and ballsy she was. She goes for what she wants, in business and pleasure, and doesn't stop at anything to get it. She has an extremely traumatic past which forces her to push people away, especially Blake, but it wasn't for very long as they would always reunite. The other thing I found was that she seemed a bit self absorbed and had the mentality of the world revolving around her. If someone had good news or an issue, she thought about how that impacted her first before being happy for them e.g. her best friend moving to New York. I enjoyed how there wasn't one major issue, there were multiple which made it seem more realistic. The relationship was nice and the smut scenes in this novel were great. But, like a lot of other books, i found that they used sex instead of talking through their issues and it was really annoying. I felt that the sex was just filling in pages and gaps as it felt like every couple of pages they were having sex. I liked the billionaire trope as it's become one of my favourite romance tropes. The two main characters were good together and I felt overall it was a decent book that just lacked in some areas. Although, it is the first in a series, so maybe some things will be answered, fixed or redeemed in the later books. If you like billionaire romances, you may enjoy this one.
